Hello! I’m Julia. I’m a working mom of a tween alongside my creative husband and best friend Austin. I’m a homeowner, list-maker, full of ideas Realtor, and artist at heart. I love the outdoors, but you’re more likely to find me and my husband on a patio downtown Portland, enjoying happy hour at one of our favorite PNW eateries. We purchased a 1930’s tudor in Milwuakie, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. Since 2015, we’ve been renovating our home and creating room to live. I’m here to share my experience, design inspiration, real estate advice, and my modern home stories.
MMI is a collage of images that inspire creativity. The images evoke a mood with a composite of color, texture, nostalgia, photographs, illustration, quotes and found objects. Inspire your week, day, or moment and bring new ideas into your home.
Portland has been my home since 2006, although I’ve lived all over the West Coast. I moved a lot growing up. Thats probably where I earned my personal confidence to meet new people and try new things. I was born in Arizona. Spent my childhood in sunny San Diego 80’s to early 90’s. My High School and College years were spent on the Wasatch front in Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah. After school, I found my way up to Kalispell, Montana, and Oregon. My son was born in 2008, in a colorful place called Eugene. Yet again, I moved around a few times between Vancouver and Portland. Then finally, I planted myself in “Stumptown” Portland, Oregon.
I know what its’ like to ‘make that move’. I know the fears of starting over, the joy of new beginnings, and because I’ve helped 100’s of clients over the years- I can communicate information in a way that is less stressful and easy to understand. I’ve torn apart a 1930’s house with my bare hands. I’ve restored the integrity of a vintage home and I learned a ton while doing it. I know what to look for(good and bad) during inspections. I know when it’s time to compromise, and when it’s time to let go. On my journey, I’ve made great choices and mistakes along the way.
